After arriving at Athens airport, the Metro costs 9 Euros and takes around 40 mins to central Athens hotels. You can get a spectacular view of the sunrise from just before the Athens Acropolis entry totally free, you can turn right and go up some stairs for the best places for Instagram sunrise shots!
Don’t wear sandals though, as the rocks are uneven and they have marble everywhere, so it’s very dangerous when they have been power washing it. Also, ‘Mount Lycabettus Athens’ is a breathtaking experience, when you see the sunrise there and you can drive to the bottom in 15 mins.
‘Piraeus Port’ is 8 km from Athens and you can get the metro there in 15-20 mins. It is very peaceful to walk around and you take the ferry from Athens to Santorini.
I tried some very tasty Falafel, Gyros and beers for all under 3.50 each! ‘Safestay Hostel’ rooftop bar is great for the best views of the Acropolis in Athens, Greek salads and hospitality!
(I’d recommend 5-7 nights stay)
