If you are looking for cool stays in the USA, San Diego is my favourite city and has a very chilled out beach vibe – but at the same time San Diego clubs and nightlife are VERY IMPRESSIVE.
Where it is very close to the border, the weather is usually great and I’d advise staying in the ‘Gaslamp Quarter’ for the best bars and restaurants in San Diego. Also, the beach is only around a 15 min uber ride away. San Diego to Tijuana is also only around a 15 min uber ride to the border.
Balboa Park museums are all worth visiting and it is walking distance. You can always go to a Padres game if you like baseball – or want one of the best experiences in San Diego, because the stadium is in the area and it was super authentic for me lol.
San Diego to LA is around a 2 hr drive, or 3 hrs on the train. Is San Diego expensive… It is less expensive than SF and LA – but it’s Cali still, so not exactly cheap and hopefully the experiences I handpicked will help get you good value for money…
